Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)

Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), commonly known as PML-N, is one of Pakistan's largest and most influential political parties. Founded in 1988 on the principles of democracy, development, and national sovereignty, PML-N has consistently championed the rights and welfare of ordinary Pakistanis.

Under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Awam Nawaz Sharif, the party transformed Pakistan's infrastructure, economy, and international standing. From the Motorway network and Lahore Metro to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) — PML-N's legacy is written in progress across every corner of Pakistan.

1988
PML-N Founded

Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) was formally established as Nawaz Sharif led a new political force rooted in development, democracy, and the aspirations of the common Pakistani.

1990
First Government

Nawaz Sharif was sworn in as Prime Minister for the first time, initiating major infrastructure projects including the Yellow Cab Scheme, motorway planning, and industrial development.

1997
Landslide Mandate

PML-N won a historic two-thirds majority in the National Assembly. The 13th Amendment restored prime ministerial powers. The Lahore Declaration with India marked a bold step toward regional peace.

2008
Return & Rebuilding

After years of exile and political suppression, PML-N returned to contest elections, establishing itself as the primary opposition and defender of democratic rights.

2013
Development Decade

PML-N won a decisive majority. The CPEC framework agreement was signed — a transformational $46 billion investment in Pakistan's energy and infrastructure.

2017–2022
Resilience & Resistance

Despite unprecedented political victimisation, PML-N stood firm as the voice of democracy. The party rebuilt its grassroots strength and won the 2022 elections, forming a coalition government.
